Tshegue 'Muanapoto' - Oui Love - New French Music

Tshegue ‘Muanapoto’

Dazzling Afro-punk band Tshegue  have released a new video for their track ‘Muanapoto‘.

Born in Kinshasa, DRC, singer Faty Sy Savanet discovered rock and hip hop when she arrived in France in the early nineties. Today, alongside percussionist Nicolas Dacunha, also known as Dakou, she delivers a highly energised and percussive music drawing on influences from blues to Ozzy Osbourne.

Tshegue‘s name is a derivative of  Lingala word “shegue”, meaning “street child” and that semantic twist gives a good indication of the spin the band put on their musical inspirations.

The video, track from their mini-album Survivor, celebrates Africa and was shot in Abidjan in Ivory Coast.

Exclusively available on iTunes Music, you can stream it here.
