The third Oui Love night is coming up on the 21st September at Birthdays in Dalston, in partnership with Rockfeedback and The Line of Best Fit.
This time it will be something of a warm-up for Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia (known to its friends as Liverpool Psych Fest), with one of the bands – Aquaserge – going on to play the festival and two others, Marietta and Dead Sea, providing ample evidence of the depth of France’s psych scene.
Released at the beginning of the year, Aquaserge‘s Laisse Ça Etre is the most acclaimed and accessible album of their career. Featuring members who have played with Tame Impala, Stereolab and Melody’s Echo Chamber, their music features coded messages, automatic writing, danceable grooves peppered with rhythmical and metrical twists and shades of Italian and French film music.
Signed to Born Bad records (La Femme, Cheveu), Marietta is preparing to release a second album of warped, woozy pop which according to The Line of Best Fit brings to mind “Kurt Vile, Mac Demarco, and Kevin Morby at his poppiest.”
Dead Sea are bright young shoegazers who have already supported Slowdive and made their mark with two blissful singles ‘Lotion’ and ‘8.50’.
Tickets are available here or via Dice FM here.
