On Monday 13th November, charismatic Parisian jazz singer Lou Tavano, in a duo with pianist Alexey Asantcheeff, will be giving a live performance in the Ciné Lumière at London’s Institut Français, as part of the ‘Jazz and the Image’ strand of the London Jazz Festival. The acclaimed singer will offer her own original interpretations of a selection of Michel Legrand’s songs for French film classic The Young Girls Of Rochefort.

The show will be followed by a screening of The Young Girls Of Rochefort, directed by Jacques Demy, starring real-life sisters Catherine Deneuve and Françoise Dorléac and featuring Legrand’s jazzy score.

A Q&A discussion after the screening will be hosted by BBC radio broadcaster Kevin Le Gendre in discussion with Tavano and Jazzwise writer Selwyn Harris.
