Burlesque dancer, model and fashion designer Dita Von Teese (born Heather Sweet) embarks on a musical career with the release of her self-titled debut, on which she collaborates with Sebastien Tellier.
Tellier wrote and co-produced the ten-song LP with programmer-keyboardist John Kirby (Blood Orange, Money Mark, Solange) and drummer Daniel Stricker (Midnight Juggernauts).
The eclectic performer has teased the project with lead single ‘Rendez-Vous‘, a breezy funk-pop slow jam which was the first song the duo worked on together. The lyrics to ‘Rendez-vous’ were written by Tellier’s wife, Dean de La Richardière, who says it’s “about a woman taking control of her freedom, and of her hunger for pleasure”.
The modern icon will release her album in February 2018 via cult French label Record Makers.
