Christine & The Queens 'Girlfriend' Feat Dâm-Funk - Oui Love - New French Music

Christine & The Queens ‘Girlfriend’ Feat Dâm-Funk

Saying it has been highly anticipated is an understatement, and now the new single from Christine & The Queens  – or ‘Chris’ – has landed in both English and French language versions. ‘Girlfriend’ is a slinky, 80s-funky collaboration with Stones Throw-signed producer Dâm-Funk that sees Héloïse Letissier exploring macho posturing for herself, both in the artwork and in the bold, sexually frank lyrics.

“I initially set out to smash against macho culture and macho men,” she says. “I became obsessed with this idea of the macho man, and still being a woman. What does it mean if I’m this figure, and I’m a woman? Does it make me an aberration? Is it joyful?”

In French, the track is called ‘Damn, dis-moi’, check out both versions below – with the fabulous video for the English version.
