Carla Bruni has made a confident return with French Touch, recorded with composer-producer David Foster (famous for his work with Céline Dion, Madonna and many more). It is a reminder that, before her time as France’s first lady, Bruni had already established her credentials as a singer and songwriter.
French Touch is her first album entirely in English and focuses on her abilities as an interpreter. It’s a classy collection of covers that includes a slinky version of ‘Miss You‘ by the Rolling Stones and a stately take on ‘Enjoy the Silence’ by Depeche Mode.
Carla Bruni will start a world tour at the end of 2017, and appears at London’s Union Chapel on 9th December.
